What is the procedure/How is it performed?
Breast volume takes an important place in woman\'s body appearance. Breasts could be small because of various structural reasons. One of them could be smaller than the other or could be asymmetric. How does the recovery period progress?
The post-operative period is generally comfortable. Pain is minimal. If the prosthesis is placed behind the pectoral muscle, there could be some restrictions in arm movements for a few days. Medical dressing is opened after two-three days in order to control the wound. It is possible for the patient to return her job within three-four days. It is recommended for the patient to avoid heavy exercises for three months.
What are possible risks and undesired results?
Each surgery has general or specific risks. Edema and pain in breast region are post-operative complaints. Bleeding and infection associated with the surgery are rarely-encountered situations. Some patients complain increasing or decreasing sensitivity on their nipples or numbness around the cut after the surgery. This is generally temporary. Deformities could be experienced in the future due to placing the implant wrongly. Some changes could be observed associated with a membrane, called as capsule, developing around prosthesis.
