Lipomastia / Gynecomastia Reconstruction

What is the procedure/How is it performed?

Sometimes gynecomastia is observed on one or both side of the chest in men due to hormonal, tumoral reasons or medicine used. Based on the severity of the problem, this problem could be removed by liposuction or open surgery.

How long does it take?

 It generally takes about one hour -one and half hour.

What kind of anesthesia is used?

The surgery is generally performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia.

How long is hospitalization? 

Usually you could be discharged from hospital on the same day.

How does the recovery period progress? 

Edema, sensitivity, pain and even locally some bruises may be experienced in operation location in the first days. Paresthesia and stingings may be in question occasionally. It is recommended for the patient to avoid from heavy exercises and activities, during which chest location may be taken impacts, for six weeks.

What are possible risks and undesired results? 

In addition to the problems possible to be observed after each operation, insufficient or excessive reconstruction may be seen. Asymmetries may be encountered.

How are the results?

The results are permanent, effective and satisfactory.
